Learn hands-on  how to make fresh pasta from scratch with Il Locale Italian head chef Dario.

Il Locale will be  passing on all the tips and techniques you need for making restaurant quality pasta at home. From fettuccine to ravioli, this is a fun filled morning making a variety of pastas and perfecting the art of kneading, cutting, rolling and filling. There will be recipes to take home for you to create your own delicious meals of fresh pastas and sauces. After your have made your pasta, Il Locale will package it up for you to enjoy at home. Following your morning of hard work, you will be rewarded for your efforts by sharing a lunch of handmade pasta from the kitchen of Il Locale with an accompanying glass of Italian wine. This workshop is an ideal way bring friends or corporate groups together in a fun environment, private workshops can be arranged by appointment from Wednesday-Saturday for a group of 10 people.

We turned 20!

We turned 20 and we threw a little party outside the Milton store to celebrate. Thank you to our friends and family for joining us for the night.

The day that stops a nation is just a month away (how did it get to October so fast?) and we've now finalized our catering choices. You might be organizing lunch for the office, or entertaining at home, but either way we can help.  You see, we've come up with many options to keep everyone happy and incredibly well fed on the first Tuesday in November.

From little individual picnic boxes to salads by the kilo, and char-grilled chickens we've got it all.

You can download the order form here.

Print it, circulate throughout the office/home and get back to us the Thursday before. What's more we're doing deliveries should you be in the CBD or Milton.

Something new! Introducing Il Locale

You might have heard... we've started something new and we're beyond excited! Il Locale will open this week in Brisbane's Rosalie - just down the road from our Milton cafe/deli. It's the culmination of concepts, cool design wares, and menu ideas we've collected the past few well as a great deal of hard work!  

The menu is shaping up to be beyond tantalising. There'll be slow roasted meats, suckling pig and 12 hour slow roasted lamb shoulder.

You can also expect handmade pastas including pizzocherie (below is a shot from our family tasting night) and a selection of plates to share with friends and family like chargrilled quail with broad beans and lemon. 

And that's forgetting the pizzas! They'll be wood fired and thin based, care of our young pizzaiolo, Leandro D'Angelo, who is originally from Florence. The wood fired oven is truly something to behold! 

For the drinks, mostly Italian wines of various price points can be purchased by the glass, 375ml carafe or bottle. We've installed a carbonated water purifier, and for a fixed price per head, you can enjoy unlimited frizzante. Economical and environmental!

Christmas in July

This weather is perfect for Christmas in July. With a lot less stress surrounding the event, why not have all of your goodies prepared by Tognini's. Narelle is back in the kitchen making her traditional puddings. With enough notice we can prepare for you all of your Christmas favourites. We are stuffing turkeys, glazing hams and hanging pudds.
