Mepunga Gruyère is inspired by traditional Alpage Gruyère and is produced seasonally in the warmer spring months when the cows graze on sweet, young grass and produce the very best of milk. This organic milk is pasturised and made into large wheels, the rind being washed regularly over 2 months, to impart a delicious savoury flavour that gives way to a sweet, nutty finish. This versatile alpine-style cheese excels on a cheese board and melts beautifully, making it an ideal choice for gratins, fondue or grated in a toasted cheese sandwich.
